Selection of an alternative BOM in MRP
HI experts:
Please tell me that out of the four or five alternatives (BOM's) i have with the same validility dates and same Lot sizes, how can i trigger the selection of the right alternative, the system is always picking up the first BOM alternative and is not giving a POP UP in mRP on which BOM To explode in manual planning run(NETCH).
Tell me how to trigger the selection of my choice BOM in the MRP run.

If you create different production versions for each bom alternative you can specify in MRP 4 that selection should be by production version (2 or3). If I can recall correctly if the production versions are all the same it will select in alphabetical order. So create version 000 and assign it the BOM you want for MRP.

As I understand you have alternative BOM's with the same valid from date and you want to select one of them for MRP.
You can make non required BOM's inactive by changing the header status and define Alternative determination through customising.
Transaction: OS32, where you define which alternative should explode during the MRP run.
