Component Section

Question:
Dear All,
In production order, there is a column called "Required qty". This is based on the total qty needed for each component to build this finished product, right??
Is there any field to indicate the base qty in the production order components section?? Base qty means the component qty needed to produce 1 pc of finished product.
Its URGENT!! Please kindly help!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!

No there is no column for this in the production order component list. The base qty is considered via the BOm to calculate the requirements qty.

For those Make-To-Orders that needs a production order, Master Data for BOM will not be created. Thus, the only place that can contain components qty is in the "components section" in production order. But unfortunately, the "required qty" contains the total qty for each component required. Is there any workaround solution to this??
Thanks a lot for helping!!
Answer:
dear ,
theres no such info in prod order.
if u wont maintain BOM for that FG, means the based qty is the qty in ur SO. since ull maintain the sales BOM based on ur order qty, rite?
so just take the SO qty, for sure it must be the same.
based qty means the refference for the system to calculate the req qty for all the components. it can be 1, 10, or something depends on ur need.
Answer:
Incase of Make to Order scenario, if a 'Design Dept' creates a BOM, then many issues gets solved!!! This looks something new that design dept creating BOM, but there are some advantages of this....as
1. In a production order, we need not enter the BIG list of components
2. We need not Calculate the required quatity, therefor Less Human Error!!!
3. When such order repeats, Design dept will refer to the OLD BOM....and thus many components remains same, which helps in reducing variety of materials remaining in stocks!!! Eg. Many Fastners / Washers / Bolts!!! ( I'm refering to Engg Division). This indirectly smoothens the MM activities.
4. Last but most imp benifit is Design BOM & Actual components consumption (Production BOM) can be matched and standerdisation of Design can be achived.
And if we can use Variant BOM, it gives advantages in many ways...but atleast you can think of simple material BOM creation by Design Dept.
