Question:
Business Scenarion of Cold rolling mill - Steel Plant,
There are few specification which are to be displayed and inputed at each and every stage of Procurement , Production and sales in Inventory Management.
Material Specification .
Type : Stainless steel / carbom steel /alloy steel
Grade : 304 l , 316 , 201 , 410 ........
Condition : Hot rolled , cold rolled , Bright Bar , Bright Wire ,
Shape : rouind , hex .square,
Diameter Size : 50 mm
Size Tolerance : h9 , h11...
Length : 6000 mm ..... variable
Suppose I receive an order as follows
Stainless Steel Bright (10) , Round bar ( 11 ) , Grade 304 (03040 ), Size 25.50 mm ( 02550 ) , h9 tol , length 3000 mm , lenght tol +/- 50 mm
I have done Material coding as follows : 10110304002550 - finish material
Query about length and its tolerance : Whether I should have lenth as variant or batch characteristics .
for above material I need the raw material as
Hot rolled ( 20 ) , round bar (11) , grade 304 ( 03040 ) , size 27 mm ( 02700 ) , h11 tol , length 6100 mm , Length tol +/- 50 mm .
Rawmaterial coding is done as - 20110304002700
Query about Length and its Tol : How Length will be calulated automatically and will be displayed in purchase order with is tolerance .
example : if finish size length is 3000 mm then Raw will be of 6100 mm
if finish is 4000 mm then raw will be 4100 mm , if finsh is 2000 mm then raw will be 6000 mm , if finish is 6000 mm then raw will be 6200 mm . It means to say we want to go for maximum length of raw material that is 6200 mm ( muliple of finish length ) .
If we add lenght as batch characteristics in finish product how it will be calculated nad copied to raw material batch characteristics . ( for variant also the same questions ) . In which screen of PO will be displayed .
I have tried with variant as well as batch management .
If I have variant characteristics - the characteristics are copied to semifinish material but are not copied to raw material ( KMAT ) , second problem is that when I view my Inventory through MMBE or MB52 or any other transaction I am not able to see these characteristics along with the material code and quantity .
If I use batch characteristics - I am not able to input this characteristics in my Sales Order . In for raw material I have to first create the Batch with manual calulations and then assign the Batch in Purchase Order . The Problem of displaing the characteristics in MMBE and MB52 is solved but these charchteristics are not copied to semifinish Material .Every time I have to create batch and assign it to semifinish material . This is not a very good IT logics .. We dont want any manual Human error in the system like SAP.
Or whether I should evoke ware house management like different storage type will act like grades 304 , 316 , Storage setion will be sizes 5 mm , 6 mm and storage bin will be lenght 3000 , 6000 , 6200 . .. Is it viable since I am afraid of Transfer Order - Mistake of transfering material to wrong storage type or section or bin.
When we reccive the raw material we have to enter some additional Information Like - Vendor Batch/Heat No , Our Batch No , No of pcs / coils received ets...which can be taken care by Batch charachteristics . But how this charachteristics will be copied to the semifinish produce out of it automatically .
When we see the stock we want all the material specification to be displayed as follows
e.g. Raw material
Hot rolled ( 20 ) , round bar (11) , grade 304 ( 03040 ) , size 27 mm ( 02700 ) , h11 tol , length 6100 mm , Length tol +/- 50 mm .

Our Batch No .
If any one has work in a SAP Envoirnment of a Steel Cold rolling BAR Mill , your advise will be appreciated and will be very helpful.
If any user exits or any Z-development is required pls provide the details .

U can view batch characterstics in mmbe , but characterstics
based is not possible in sap . In apo it is possible
regarding ur question coping raw material characterstics to semifinished clarify whether ur class type is 001 or 022 or 023

HI,
While writing constraints in the dependency net the system shows syntax error. For eg if I write following syntax:
OBJECTS:
PC IS_A (300) PC
Is any other thing wchich I have to maintain for the constraint or just I have write above syntax in the editor?
