Production Order confirmation

Question:
Dear SAPFANS,
We have a problem in variance reconcilation of production ordres.
Say I create a production order on Jan 15, 2004 for producing 100 units. Say, the actual production is 95 units happenned on 28.1.2004. The production guy makes the order status as TECO. The finance guy run C088 and do an order settlement, as part of period end activity.
Subsequently, say, feb 7, 2004 the production guys find that the remaining 5 units (he found it in some racks) and he needs to do an inward in SAP. He does an inward against this order (by reversing the TECO). He makes a postings to the 28.1.2004 (the date on which he previously did TECO). This creates variance reconciliation problems for Feb month.
I want to know how to avoid this (what changes in SAP needs to be done).
If I can stop the production guy from making a posting to the closed period or restrict him that confirmation should ALWAYS be on system date, then it would solve the reconciliation problem.
Awaiting your inputs.
Thanks in advance.
With Best Regards

Answer:
Hi Vaidya
Confirmation thro CO11n do permits for past dates (but after order release date) in standard SAP. We can customise the confirmation date as the present default date.
Past date confirmation will be allowed by the system if you open the previous period ( if you do the confirmation in previous period)
In MMRV don't allow posting to pervious period. Atleast this will prohibit confirmation to previous period, but allow past date in the same period.
I will study in SPRO how to make confirmation date as present default date.
