Workforce planning CMP9

Question:
We are implementing Workforce planning. Now we would like to use CMP9 as a (simple) report to have a quick view.
In that report we see some icons which we do not understand. We also did not find any documentation about these icons.
The icons come forward in the Exception column. The exceptions we did find out what they are about, are the "traffic lights".
Could someone tell me what the icons red square and yellow triangle mean?
Are there more icons and what do they mean?
Greetings
Answer:
Hi Ikke,
the red and yellow lights are used to see the situation for a Work Center or a Resource assigned quickly.
You have to different "lights". The first one to see if the work capacity requested for your Network Activity is almost assigned or not. For instance, if you have 100 hs. planned in your Network Activity you can define the following alerts: More than 90% assigned is Green, between 89% and 40% is yellow and less than 39% is red. So, you can get the first view about if you, like project manager or MRP Planner, has the people assigned to do the work requested in the Network Activity.
The other one is about the Resource Capacity. Usually, each individual has the capacity predefined in the Work Center to work 8 hours daily. So, you can define the lights in the following way: More than 6 hours assigned to differente Network Activities is Red (because if you want to assign this guy to other Network Activity maybe he has not the time to do that or you have to pay Overtime), between 2 and 5 hours assigned to Network Activities is yellow (he has some work but you can assigne more activities to this guy), less than 2 hours is green (because he is almost free to do any requirements).
Good luck and reply me for further information or clarification.

Answer:
Hi El Diablo
I thought I ask you these workforce planning questions, since I have seen you reply to some of them
1) are workforce planning and capacity planning mutually exclusive?
i.e. are they to be used independent of each other, or do they
have a sequence? I know that capacity leveling and the dispatching
process re-schedules the orders if the work is dispatched outside
of the schedule. Can workforce planning be configured to do that?
i.e to change dates based on distribution
2) in workforce planning, even if the person works 8 hours
per day based on his/her work schedule in HR, you can still
distribute more than 8 hours - and the system does not issue any
error messages. Is there a way to control this?
3) Again in workforce planning, similar to (2) above, when you create
an assignment of a work order to a person, the system opens up the
weekends too. This means that I can distribute work on a saturday
and sunday too. Again, the system does not issue even a warning
message. Is there a way to control this? The reason to control this is
because the persons CATS profile may prevent time to be entered on
a weekend, so I should not be able to distribute work on the weekend
4) Workforce planning - If the person is scheduled to work on order A
this week, but is already working on some other order B, and I choose
to distribute the work of order A to him/her next week, the system
allows this to be done, but does not automatically re-schedule the
order dates. Does workforce planning work only like a one-way street?
In that, the scheduled dates drive how the work is to be distributed.
And so, if the dates need to change, then the order dates need to be
physically changed and re-scheduled so that distribution can take
place to the new dates
5) When the dates of the order do change, and work has already been
distributed, then depending on the workforce scheduling
configuration in the network scheduling parameters, the previous
distribution is either deleted or moved per the start or finish dates.
However, the system just lumps the total hours to the start or finish
rather the distributing them evenly, based on available hours per day.
Is this normal? Because, if it is, then it is painful
Thank you very much
