replacing of master inspection characteristics
1)how do i replace a partcular inspection characteristic with another... i tried QA27.. but thre was some prob and the replacement did not occur.
2)When i change a MIC, a new version gets generated, can i prevent this. the change should happen in the already present version, so that i dont have to replace. i dont want to have different versions at all in the MIC.
where is the setting fot his is in "SPRO"
Go to Tcode :-QCC0
Basic Settings -->Maintain settings at Plant level ---> select Plant --> In Basic data master data maintenance Remove the Tick mark . This prevents you from creating a Version .

thanks a lot. thats is of help to me... but is there any procedure for refreshing the tasklist also..
for example, in a tasklist, i have a parameter ... and when i change the parameter master values, that is not getting realised in the tasklist. for that i have to go to individual tasklist and refresh the parameter.
one parameter can be in any no of tasklists and so it is not feasible..

If you maintain an actual spec in the task, (in that case you've unlocked the MIC in the plan), then you cannot use the mass replace transaction to update the MIC. You can use the transaction to identify all tasks list the MIC is used in though.
The mass replace transaction only will replace/update an reference characerisitic.

thanks..thats is fine.. can i create all my characteristics as reference char... is there any other repercussion for this...
Krith
Well.. the question is where you keep your specifications? If they come from the class then it shouldn't be any issue to use all reference characterisitcs.

Thanks buddy.
I am maintaining all my specifications in the parameter itself...... it will be changed often and it should get reflected in the tasklist... i tried, it was fine... what do you say?
Krith
In the parameter itself? What do you mean by that? In the MIC? In the task list? In the class?
