Phantom materials creation
Hi all,
While creating a phantom item material master, is it nessesary to use the settings on MRP1 (MRP type as PD and an MRP controler)? Wouldn't it work without?
Also, I think we don't have to maintain the 'inhouse prod time' and 'scheduling margin key', am I right?
Can anyone let me know what all keys are mandatory in MRP1,2,3 &4 views during the creation of a phantom item?
Thanks in advance,
PPjunior.
Hi pp junior,
It is not mandatory to maintain the fileds that U have mentioned. However, there is no harm maintaining them in case U decide to regularise the material later.
cheers
In MRP1 view,
1. Procurement type -'E'
2. Special procurement type - '50' and
3. MRP type type -'PD' is must.

Hi,
You've mentioned that MRP type 'PD' is must, can you explain its significance?
Thanks,
PPjunior
Hi PP junior,
While creating any material certain fields are mandatory depending of the materiall type you use.
Most material types will have mandatory fields in MRP1 & 2 screens.
eg Base UOm, MRP type, lot size , procurement type as mandatory fields.
You are right ;you dont have to mainatin the 'inhouse prod time' and 'scheduling margin key'
For phantom materials E & 50 is most important. Mrp type U may maintain ND as well.
If you still dont want certain mandatory fields then only option is to customise a new material type with relevant fields only for phantom materials
Hope this helps you.

Hi RRS
In creation of material master we can make the fields optional/mandatory or hide. MRP type can also be set optional. In T.Code OMSR find the field selection group for MARC-DISMM.In field selection data screen find the field selection group. Here you can define wether the entry is optional or required.
