Cproject & Cfolder & ...
Im looking to understand:
- What come with R/3 standard ? is PLM standard in R/3 ?
- Is cproject standard in PLM ?
- Why would I need project suite 3.10 ?
I already check http://service.sap.com/plm
with all whitepaper and master guide but Im still confuse on what is in what.
Best regards,
Stephan.
I can answer part of that - PLM and cProjects don't come with standard R/3. They are add-ons that may incur an additional license addendum and/or fee.
This is what SAP says about cProjects:
With SAP Collaborative Project Management, you can handle the entire range of project activities, from concept and planning through execution and the closing of a project, covering all project types, from development to service projects. Additionally, it enables companies to comply with industry standards by implementing project methodologies such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Collaborative Project Management, realised by cProjects includes the management of templates, teams, phases, quality gates/milestones, tasks, scheduling, interactive Gantt chart, checklists, documents, object links, confirmation approval and digital signature, control plan. In addition it supports multi-project management, the integration of Microsoft Project (export and import), the creation of project snapshots and simulation versions, the assignment of substitutes for tasks and many more.
cProjects uses cFolders to offer tightly integrated scenarios to jointly work on documents and tasks with external partners.
But it seems like everything that PLM is include is almost standard (PM, PS and under 4,7 you have a collaboration menu, Health and Safety, etc ).
Any idea where I can find documentation on what is standard and what I will get with eahc add-on (ie: project suites 3.10).
I mean anywhere other than calling my SAP rep ?
Thks, Stephan.
hi ,
we are currently implementing cprojects and i found most of the documents from service.sap.com.
1)cprojects comes as a part of mySAP business suite and comes in the PLM module.
2) you can install cprojects as a standalone system , but if you are looking for integration into your costing - you would need r/3.
would be glad to answer any of your queries.
regards,
ace
hello ,
PLM is not a module, but rather a solution. another example is SCM (Supply chain Manangement)
This PLM solution covers functionality found in R/3 (DMS, PS, PM, CS, QM, etc)
In the solution, we find cFolders, cProjects, xRPM, which all have a Web-based frontend.

Please note that cFolder and cProject is applications on it's own, and can be used without SAP R/3. However, it's possible to link eg. cProject (with object links) to the project system in R/3...
It's the same with xRPM, can be linked to MS project, cProject, R/3 PS, PrimaVera etc...
Hi
I am a PS consultant and will be implementing cProjects in near future. Need to know if there is any organisation (apart from SAP) who conducts cProjects courses?

Hi,
We are currently thinking of using cfolders functionality with the Document Management System.
We are using Content server with DMS.
I would like to know if it is possible to integrate the DMS in 4.6 C with c folders.
What are the prerequisites?
Thanks
