Question:
Dear experts
I am trying first time IBIP,and facign few problems..before this i have used BDC and LSMW for data uploads and OK with it.
step i am followign are:
Create TEST DATA for creation of Maint Item
I feel it is similar to recording in LSWM
Then i transfer data and i get structure for the data.
based on that i create my xl file with field name a the top of it and values in column.
when i pick presentaion server,i get error as
ssage: E ID 514 Transaction IP04#IPIPMPOS##pm not supported in batch input mode

system is not able to read fiel it seems and it gives all the fields in error file.
i have tried all the combinattion with field name at top pf column,without field name,with IP04 and IBIPMPOS AS FIRST TWO COLUN etc..
still the error is coming.
please suggest me in wha tformat .txt file shuld be created..

Hi,
If you want to use IBIP, use the correcponding table structure.
For Maintenance item, this is IBIPMPOS.
The flat file look like this (dot is blank) :
IP04................IBIPMPOS................................(item number on 16 position) and so one.
No field name on the first line and use all the field off the structure (32 fields)
I tried this morming this structure and it's Ok.

I KNOW IT SIMPLE TILL U GET IT ONCE RIGHT..AFTERWARDS IT IS VERY VERY USEFULL..ALSO TELL ME ANY SPECIFIC MTHEOD TO SAVE FILE SO THAT IT CANRETAIN EXACT FIELD WIIDTH..IN MY CASE IT TRUCCATES THE FILE AND THEN DATA IS OVERLAPPING..

How do u enter blanks..? also do u enter this blansk in each and every field of u r file.. ? or therer is any simple method for this..revert as i m stucked here..if i try to enter blanks in each and every cell then it will take hell lot of time boss..
pl suggest method to create this file..

Hi,
IN IBIP every column width must be fixed. So when you create text file make free space for the remaining character.. If you want to enter blank value, enter blank space for that much character.

do i have to got eachand every field (I mean cell) and enter blank sapce..? if so it will take lot of time to orgaize file..any other methpd so that we can fix up column width along woth character width..?

Hi,
You can use Macros functionality in Excel.
In the first line enter width of column and in remaining line enter enter the value. Design the macro in such way that blank space will be added for the remaining character. Eg if field lenght is 30 ch and field value is 10ch then macro will add 20 blank space and generate text file.
Right now I don't have that file.. but by this way only you can easily use IBIP.
