Same results for several batches/insp.lots

Question:
Hi !
I've got this setting.
A powder is produced to a silo. From this silo is packed 18 pallets a day. Depending on quality they make pooled samples, either 2 and 2 or 6 and 6 pallets pooled.
Originally the client defined everything produced in a day as a batch, which gave me a challenge since the content of the silo isn't homogenous, and I'd have to splitt the inspection lot, but now they've changed.
We're also implementing WM, and they need to keep track of the different pallets, thus the SAP-batch is now a combination of batch number and pallet number, giving 18 batches a day., which gives 18 inspection lots.
Since 2 or 6 batches will have the same analytical data I was wandering, is there a way to transfer the results to several batches/inspection lots at the same time or will they have to enter the same results for each inspection lot.

There might be something in 4.7 to allow for copying results but I think that is in 5.0 Enterprise. I've seen the same situation many times and in most cases it required a custom solution.
I would ask though why your making each pallet a batch? Why not make it one batch? Your operators SHOULD be taking a sample from the first bag, the last bag and every middle bag of each pallet. These samples can be pooled into a single sample, mixed and tested. That would be perfectly legit. (I am assuming material being put into the silo is tested or controlled via inprocess testing and no out-of-spec material enters the silo).
You also could use individual result recording and test each sample separately, (entering the pallet number in the text field) and let SAP average a mean for the batch final result.
If a pallet is bad.. that qty. of material is posted to a new batch number and the operators are informed which pallet to relabell and quaraintine.

Hi Craig !
It's reasonable to assume the inprocess analysis, but what they say is that they don't do a quality control prior to loading into the silo since they can't influence the production process anyway. My opinion is that you'd do the QC anyway just to make sure that off spec material isn't mixed with OK material, but anyway....
The reasoning for not making one batch is because they need to follow each pallet in the warehouse, using barcoding. In addition, the pallets will have different analytical values since the content of the silo isn't homogenious. Some pallets will then be selectable for certain customers, while others from the same days production will not.
Your suggestion of letting SAP average the batch based on the different pallets values would give some challenges. First you wouldn't be able to select the correct pallet for the demanding customer, and secondly off spec material would influence the batch value even if the quantity is transfered to a new batch.
Based on this I guess we'll have to go for each pallet as a batch.
Since we're on 4.7c I'll do an extra check on the possibility of copying even if I couldn't find anything on the first attempt.
Thanks for your help, suggestions and points of view.
I always appreciate them, both in response to my questions and to posting made by others. Lots of valuable knowledge to grasp.

Answer:
Yes.. with out control on the material going in to start with your kind of stuck. I was assuming there was some process control going on there.
But if your concerns are about each pallet, then why are you pooling samples then if the analytical values can be that different? (Sorry.. playing devils' advocate.. I already know the answer!!! )
I think you'll need some type of development work!

Answer:
as of 4.7, SAP provided an R/3 Extension Set 2.00 (Interface for copying inspection results). check note 596648.
