Hello Craig and QM Geniuses,
I want to know that, while creating physical samples (QPR1) in the system, if i give the retention period of the sample in the field "store until", Do system give any message or popup on arriving of this date. For clear understanding kindly go through following example:
Suppose i create a sample on 21.09.2004 and this sample is retained for one month so i give the retention period date, i.e 20.10.2004, in the field "store until". Now on arriving of 20.10.2004 does system give any type of indication or automatically consume or use this sample or change the status of sample from release to used ????????????
Kindly guide me in this regard.

This field is for informsation only. You can search and control by this field and the storage duration in days using QPR7.

Hi,
You can use it in sample labels, i.e. to inform lab workers. If you want to check goods based on time, you have to utilize recurring inspection which is inspection type 09. It's suitable only for batch-managed materials. You set inspection interval in material master and run inspection periodically or manually using tra QA07.
