Hi Gurus,
In WM system,
I have config storage type 001 and set one field named 'capacity check method' as 1 (Check according to maximum weight).
And to Warehouse no. 001 and storage type 001, I have create a storage bin as 01-05-05. entry 200 in field 'Total capacity'.
The same time, I entry 100/kg in field 'Capacity usage' in material master record.
MY Q is, after GR 50KG goods, field 'Occupied weight' and 'Cap.used' in storage bin master data is still zero.
what 's wrong with this situation? Please guide!

Answer:
Do not mix capacity and weight.
The capacity must not always be a weight. One can define the capacity for a storage bin by e.g. square meters or pallets or shelfs, or liters.
Let me give you an example. the Bin is defined with a maximum capacity of 30 pallets. (10 on the floor, max. 3 on top of each other if iron drums, max 2 on top of each other if plastic drums, 4 drums a pallet)
Here I cannot use weight because the iron and plastic drum do both contain 200 kg. Having iron drums I can store 24000 kg while I only have 19200 kg if all space is occupied with plastic drums.
In material master of material with plastic drums I enter a capacity usage 1,5 /pal while I have a capacity usage of 1/pal in the material masters for material in iron drums.
The utilization field gets filled with XXXX to show you pictographic how much of your capacity is used.
Please read OSS note 392776. This gives you information about which strategie uses the weight and for which you need to setuo capacity.
