Here's the scenario:
I use automated purchasing. The shipping date on the order comes from the purchase requisition. If the requisition is for an MRP controlled material I can determine the lead time from within the material and this will determine the date on the requisition.
My problem is this. If the requisition is for a catalogued material but not controlled by MRP how do I get the correct date on the requisition?
For example - protective clothing (a non-stock catalogued material in my system) requires 14 days from the order creation date to allow embroidery of the person's name etc. When a purchase requisition is created the delivery date is for lead time of just 5 days which is the standard global default we've chosen in our system for non MRP materials. We could change the standard default to 14 days not experience has shown that 5 days works for the majority of items. I'm trying to deal with the exceptions to the rule.
I hope I've explained the problem clearly enough and I truly hope that someone can provide a solution.

Have you thought of using the Planned Delivery Time from either Info Record or Outline Agreement to solve your problem?. The necessary setting is found in Transaction OMI8.
