Question:
Hi all,
Can someone explain in brief how and what are the steps in batch master , Batch stock & Batch where used records are archived ?
what are the pre-requisites for archiving these records from the tables MCHA , MCHB & MCH1 ?

Answer:
From customizing point of view you need to define the path and file for the archive and after what size you want create a new file.
From a business point of view you should define what batches you dont need anymore, as you do not have a residence time in the selection or customizing.
In any case you should click the button net graphic in SARA for object MM_SPSTOCK, this gives you an idea what objects you have to archive before you start with batches.
If you just want get rit of MCHB segments for zero stock items, because of performance issues, then I recommend to look into OSS note 62272 and search the forum for ZREOMCHB.
