Question:
Hi !
The Requirement is Text Data should not be modifiable in change mode of material master by User except authorised person.
How to make text field (e.g. Sales Text , Basic Data Text) as display in MM02 ?
I tried by selecting display but the Text Data field is still modifiable.

Have you tried the Lock functionality in the material master.......
In customizing, transaction OMSFIX, Select the required fields that are to be locked. Then proceed to the MM02 transaction and select the 'Lock' pushbutton (CTRL+SHIFT+F1). THe material will be locked, and all the lock relevant fields will be changed into display mode.
I have never tried this in the production system...... so please carryout proper tests before you proceed.....also please read the IMG documentation for the transaction OMSFIX
NB: We are in the 4.7 version.........I am not quite sure whether this functionality was available in the previous versions.

The problem is Text data element field name is not known or showing .No help data is available for these fields.
