Stock now showing up in UnrestrictedUse
Hello Experts,
This is probably very simple, but IM is not a strong point in our shop. We want to 're-enable' a plant that used IM functionality a long time ago. We're not sure which config was deleted/now missing since those people are gone.
We're starting basic testing of creating stock materials, writing PO, doing GR, and looking for the stock to be in unrestricted status. Stock is not showing up in unrestricted although GR is posted. What are we missing? Could it just be the material was set up incorrectly? Is it the plant?
Any hints on where I should start checking my config? We've checked basic plant config and the material created was a stock material.
Thanks for any help!
The first thing I would check is the configuration of the material type - is quantity updating turned on? I may help us answer you if you gave moreinformation such as the movement type used for the GR.

In transaction OMS2 check the flags for quantity/value updating..
also - go into the receiving document where the GR was performed and check the accounting documents. It may provide some cluesas to the configuration.
If you have QM did the stock go into Quality Blocked?
Hello All!
Thank you for all those great suggestions!
I checked OMS2, etc., etc. Now I've discovered that the PO creator put account assignment of K (cost center) on the order. Account assignment should have been left blank, so that the system knows goods are for inventory! Stock now shows available in 'unrestricted use'. Is this regular system behavior?
I guess I overlooked that one.
Thanks again
