Hi,
Just wanted to know where can i change the default settings for phys. inventory mvmt types, i.e. 701 or 702..
...i wanted to change it to my newly created mvmt type.

I am not 100 % sure whether this will help you or not, but you may check this out:
The only linkage I could find for 701/702 in OMJJ
Check in OMJJ allowed transactions for 701/702 you will find that MI07/MI08/MI10 are the transactions through which you post the inventory differene & which triggers the movement.
May be you can assign your newly created movement type with these transactions in OMJJ & remove the assignment of 701/702 to transactions mentioned above.

I tried your wise proposal but to no avail..the system is telling me to 'Specify the key within the work area'...

Hi,
When you create the new movement type via Transaction OMJJ, do not specify any restriction on Selection Dialog Box. You will then receive a selection list of all movement types, from which you can select and copy the required movement type. If you specify the restriction, you can only copy and save within these movement types that resulted in the error message SV033 “Specify the key within the work area”. Check in OSS Note 523507.

I also tried to simulate the process in our system, but even after assigning the other movement type for MI07 system looks for 701 movement type only.
I am sorry but as of now I do not have any solution.
If I find any solution I will let you know.

I guess the movement types for differences are defined in table T150, which is not customizable to my knowledge.
If you find a way let me know.
Answer:
You could either hack the table T150 and change the entries or create a new table "Z150" and copy the program MM07IFB0 to look at your table instead of T150.
