A pratical issue about Vendor Consignment->Need your help
Dear all:
Our company have decided to implement the "Vendor Consignment" process. Under this process, all materials from vendor will store in a storage location with special stock "k" means "consignment storage location".
By the way, we have finicial document and material document after transfer the consignment stock into owned storage location.
Our company have a serious poblem, we want to change the process, but we still have stocks in the owned stock. Now,all the related material that already placed in owned storage location must be transfered to the consignment storage location. How can I do for it? May I use the movement type 412 with indicator K to move the inventory to the consignment storage location?
Could anyone give me advices?
Any help is appreicated.
P.S We are under SAP4.0B environment.

I will try to help, although not a specialist.
The problem of using 412 K is that from the accounting point of view it is not going to reflect the reality...
Might be better to do a return to the vendor and then MIGO (goods receipt) for consignement stock (if the case is that the vendor agrees to change all the stock that you own into consignement stock).
If you are in a testing environment you might well use 412 K anyway.

Since the stock was taken up into the own stock, it got valuated so at what date?? is it very old??? was there any price change after it was taken up in own stock???
once all these questions are answered we could be in a better position to suggest.

Our stock is new, so our price would not change in a few time.
All I have to do is doing transfer posting to my owned storage location.
Athough the failure under 4.0 environment makes me sad, but I was success under 4.6 environment. So I guess it may any thing different between 4.0 and 4.6
