Hi,
Currently in my material master record, the INTERNAL NUMBER field (MARA-BMATN) is being hidden/suppressed. I am trying to get the field to be optional. I've checked the field selection group for this field - it belongs to group 123. This group also contains the Manufacturer part number field (MARA-MFRPN) which is currently optional.
The behaviour of this group for the field reference being used by the material type is already OPTIONAL. Same goes to field reference inductry sector and MM01,MM02.
Question: Why is the MARA-BMATN being suppress and MARA-MFRPN optional eventhough they belong to same field selection group? How do I get MARA-BMATN to be optional?

Do you MPN fuctionality. If yes have a look in OSS note 333990. IF not, I guess you cannot use this field.
