Dear SAP fans,
we created PI document in period 11 and freezed book inventory, then materials have been counted whole over the month. Now we cannot post PI difference in the period 12. The system responds"Change the count date so that it lies within the posting period 11 2003". Meanwhile, the period 11 has been successfully closed in all modules, therefore the postings in the given period are not allowed.
Please advice whether it is possible to post PI difference in the period 12?

What transaction are you using to post PI differencies? I do not remember such error in MI07 that complains about count date and not posting date? There is no count date on the screen.
Moreover I remember cases when user accidently carried out MI07 with current posting date while physical inventory (with freeze indicator)took place in previous period and it was necessary to fix this .

Hi Boris,
no matter if I use MI07 or MI37, the error is the same. Now I revealed that the system does not even allow to enter inventory countsthru MI04/MI24 in period 11 for documents created in previous period. Error message: "A count has already been recorded for this physical inventory document in posting period 11 2003. All further counts relating to this physical inventory document must be performed in the same posting period."
I believe there must be restrictions in SPRO to be deactivated, so that I could make entries. Any ideas?
PS: were those problems that you've mentioned posted in this forum?
I couldn't find any topics similar to my problem.

Renat , I have mentioned specific cases from my experience in order to say that I beleive that it is possible to post differencies in current period although count relates to previous period .
I cannot say that I know what settings should be done to allow you to post differencies in period 12. The only thing I can think is to reopen period 11, if there is no other option.
