Follow-Up Mateials
Can anybody help, please?
I have a Material which has become obsolete and has a replacement - ie Follow-Up Material.
Ihave set the Discontinuation Indicator to 1, entered the Eff Out Date as Today and entered the replacement Material Number in the Follow-Up Mat field.
Both Materials are set to MRP Type V1 (MRP) and both are present on the Planning File.
The system is still ordering the original part.
Where am I going wrong, or is there something I have to set in Config to make it work?

The discontinued indicator on the MRP4 screen should transfer the demand after you have used up all available stock. The date field on that screen basically states that you plan on replenishing your stock up to that date, and then after that date you plant to use up all your remaining stock. If you run out of that stock then the demand will be transferred to your follow up material. If you decide to take out (scrap) you existing stock, your demand should be automatically transferred to your follow-up material so long as there is no date, or today’s date in the date field.
