IM v/s WMS

Question:
Hi Friends,
We are planning to implement WMS now, but we have already implemented Inventory management (MM).
What happens to IM when WMS is implemented. Do we still continue with IM or it is totally discarded.
Can someone give me some details on this.
On WMS which is the best site where i can learn much more.
IInd Question.
Where can i get information on QM module of SAP. Our end users are interested in getting information on QM functionality so that it can be implemented.
Thanks and regards,
RAM
Thanks and regards
Answer:
Hello,
Regarding your questions: "What happens to IM when WMS is implemented. Do we still continue with IM or it is totally discarded."
IM will remain in place, WM is an extension of IM, since you are going to specify exactly where a particular materials sits in the Warehouse. In IM you only can specify that the material sits in a particular plant. WM will basically put more details into the operations of materials in a plant.
Currently you have a plant and a storage location, with WM you will need to specify for which plant / storage location you are going to use WM - using putaway and picking strategy to specific locations (bin / shelf, etc.).
Trust this helps.
