Classification - Entry required CT04 / CL02
Hi, I don't know if this is exactly the right logistic's sub-forum...
What I want to enable is that specific chararcteristics are "entry requierd" only in combination with some classes. Means this:
chararcteristic A321:
class 31010 --> entry required
class 31047 --> entry required
other classes --> no entry required
But afaik I know I can only mark the "entry requiered" flag generally in CT04 and not for each class in CL02?
Any solutions or hints?
Regards,

Hi Juergen,
I am not quite understanding if this is the solution for your specific requirement, but definitely in Transaction CL01, it is possible that you can set a certain characteristics as 'Entry required' by flagging on the 'E' checkbox. By doing this, it is compulsory that the value must be assigned to this characteristic.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
HT
Well, CL01 is almost the same as CL02 (01 -- create class, 02 -- change class).
I know that there's a checkbox where you can make a characteristics as required one. But I'm the opinion that this is only a general property for the characteristic in all classes.
But I want to have (if possible) that a characteristic can be either required or not not depending on the class.

If you are using char in material/ batch class: you can create one char with active Entry Required Indicator, and other without this indicator. Now you can use these chars for mandatory/ optional entry.

Try changing the class (CL02), place yourself in the 'Characteristics' tab and then select the desired characteristic and press button 'Overwrite char.'.
This way, you'll be able to change the characteristic specificly only when it is used in the class you're changing.
Just a reminder: usually there are settings that can only be changed before the characteristic has been used.
Hope this helps!
Well, that's exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot. Sometimes it's just easier than one thinks...
