batch records shelf life expiration date

Question:
What seems to be occuring is that the value in MARA-VFDAT is being increased in days,
what field is this: MARA-VFDAT ? I dont have this in my MARA structure.
my MARA-MHDHB has the value in weeks if I maintain it in weeks.
But you might want to check with OSS note 448677
When I look at the batch record, the production date is correct (MCHA-HSDAT), but the shelf life expiration date displays an incorrect value.
What is an incorrect value? VFDAT is filled with a date, what should it be for you?
Answer:
MARA-VFDAT should actually read MCHA-VFDAT, sorry.
If I have a production date of today (07/12/04) and a total shelf life of 5 weeks, the expiration date should be 11/01/05, but it is actually being set as 12/12/04 (plus 5 days instead of 5 weeks).
Stuart.
Answer:
I am experiencing something similar. I have some batches that are showing a production date of 08/02/2004 but an expiration date of 03/14/2004. The material master for that item has a total shelf life of 365 days. Is there another setting I need to check for the correct determination? The only change showing on the MM for the number of days is changing it from 548 to 365. Thanks in advance.
