Question:
Standard SAP GI to process order is 261, I would like to create a new process order type and have the movement ype for GI mapped to a different movement type than 261.
Any ideas?

I would stress caution if you are trying to do this. I do not suggest a new movement type as MM/FI reconciliations may get mis-match thus leading to inaccuracies for your business. 261 movement is capable of may types of transactions.
Please specify exactly what you are trying to accomplish for your business process.

Hi,
Usually, for the case of GI to process order, the backflushing of materials is done on the automatic posting basis ie. there is not any intervention of warehouse staff during this process and in fact, 261 is the standard movement type for using this process. The point is why you would like to change into your own movement type from the business point of view, prior to thinking of changing into the new customized one.
