book quantity in PID

Question:
Hi! Please advise whether the book quantity displayed in MI03 (per material) must be equal to the total stocks shown in transaction code MB5L (List of Stock Values: Balances)?
We are encountering an error where a PID was conducted for June 30.
If, for example, book quantity was specified as 50,000 kg. Assuming that book quantity here equals the book quantity in MB5L, total stocks in MB5L should also equal 50,000 kg. This is not the quantity we are getting. MB5L quantity equals 100,000 kg. This is why I am asking if stocks in these two
transactions must be equal or not.
Please advise. Thanks and have a nice day!
Regards,
Mae
Answer:
The inventory document has the book quantity of ONE storage location.
MB5L shows the quantity from ALL storage locations.
Answer:
Thanks svetja! I forgot to mention in my earlier inquiry that the storage location I am looking at in MB5L only consists of one storage location... the same storage location specified in the inventory document. If this is the case, must the quantities be equal still? Thanks again and good day!
Regards,
Mae
