Folks,
I need small help from you .
We have one material, which was maintained batch management in 2001. we don't batch management for this material.
1. We have removed all the stocks in present and previous period.
2. We have deleted all the batches
3. Deleted all the open Pos and Sas.
But still we are unable to remove the batch management check for this material.
Is it possible remove the batch management check? Is so how to.
We are using material ledger.

And in this case the system provides error messages telling you exactly what you missed.
If you havent seen this message then do MM02, erase batch management flag, then save. System creates message that you should look into the error log.
Maybe you havent realized that in this case a new button appears next to the additional data button called ERROR LOG. Click this button and tell me what the system says.

In MM02 screen the batch management check box is disabled. we cannot remove the check.

If the field is open for optional maintainance, or obligatory or only visible or even hidden is defined in setup of field reference in OMSR and OMS9, field selection group 75.

Hi!
The best and recommended solution is to create a new material copying the current one. Ensure that the batch mangement check is inactive in the concerned plant. Then do the transfer posting material to material.
