Question:
Hi All,
I am testing PR release procedure with classiffication.
I have maintained characteristics, class and defined release group and assigned class to release group and defined rest of release strategy..
But i do not see how this release startegy is assigned to PRs?? Because in PR release procedure without classififcation i could see the assignment of Release strategy for plant etc..
So when i create PR which meets the release condition of class characteristic values, still it doesnt pickup release strategy
Am i missing anythiung?

Hi,
With very brief information, it is nearly impossible for me to tell you what went wrong with your settings. There have been many reasons which make your PR failed to be subject to release strategy. As a result, mind you to clarify how you have set up your release procedure and how you entered your problematic PR.

Hi HT,
I have setup PR release procedure in IMG under purchasing, purchase requisitions, release procedure, procedure with classification. Here first i have defined two characteristics Material Number, Total value of PR and defined the range of values. Next i defined a class of type 032 and assigned the above two characteristics with values.
later i defined release Group and assigned the Class defined earlier. Defined release codes and release indicators . Later defined release strategy and defined dependency between release codes and classification.
Later i created PR manually for the material i entered in Class characteristics and ensured that totoal value of PR falls in the criteria defined in class.
But PR is not subjected to release strategy... So my basic question is after defining release procedure where is the link between defined release strategy in IMG to PR? Its like whenever PR is created then it will be checked whether attributes of PR (like material number, value) will be sent to classififcation and in turn to defined release prodecure to check if any release strategy is applicable??

Hi Raj,
A couple of steps to be checked -
1) When you defined your release group, was the item-wise or overall release selected? If it was overall release, did you set in Transaction OMEB for your specific PR document type?.
2) Did you assign the characteristic values to your release strategy via Transaction CL20N?.
3) How many line item did you maintain for your problematic PR?.
