MM-WM capacity check
I have capacity check set to 'usage check by material' and placement strategy 'add to existing stock'.
Why does the system seek to accomodate the whole quantity of my receipt into one bin?
Example: I am placing a delivery quantity of 100. The bin capacity is 40. There is no existing stock. I expect the transfer order to create 3 items, placing quantities of 40, 40 and 20 into different bins.
However, a capacity exceeded error comes up: it tries to put 100 in the bin but can't.
Please send me some advice.

Inspection method 4 - check in accordance with material key figure
You can define a neutral capacity consumption relating to a unit of measure in the Warehouse Management view of the material master. You must then have defined a total capacity (also neutral) in the storage bin master data. For the putaway on a storage bin, the remaining capacity of the storage bin is calculated from the total capacity minus the capacity of the putaway materials and saved in the storage bin master record. In the case of other putaways and additions to existing stock, this remaining capacity is used to check whether the putaway is allowed on this bin. This inspection method is also suitable for storage types with mixed storage.
I guess you maintained only maximum weight, but you have to maintain maximum capacity for storage bin. As well you have to define the capacity usage in material master WM1 view.

Dear Kumi,
You should say what your problem is, just saying you have a similar problem does not help. If it is similar, then the same answer should apply to you as well.
Please tell us your settings for strategy and material master
People,
Try not to forget the palletization data in the WM2 view of the material master (or at the momento of TO creation). The palletization data indicated the system how much quantity you'll place at a time, in a storage bin.
This is the way to accomplish the division of your quantity in different TO items, so that the capacity check is well carried out.
All of this complements the previous post.
Hope this helps,
Nuno Dionísio
