Fixed Bin Picking
I am investigating fixed bin picking. It appears that the system will not search for inventory outside of the designated bin. Is that true? What happens if you have a TO for a quantity greater than what is in the fixed bin? Is there a way to get the system to search for stock in other parts of the warehouse? I have a section search defined that would allow this, but the system appears to ignore it. Is the only solution to replenish into the bin before creating the TO (or the TO for the remaining qty)?
Anyone with experience in fixed bin picking - please share your thoughts.

Hi Scott,
If you had defined Section Search then it should pick up the stock from other Bins based on your search criteria defined. What you had done is the right way.

We are using Fixed Bin picking at our warehouse and it works great. We pick from the fixed bins and pull full pallets out of the rack and bulk storage. The racks and bulk are both different storage types. I'd be happy to send you a copy of the set up, if you'd like.
