MRP FOR MULTIPLE PLANTS

Question:
Dear All,
We have got three Plants in SAP corresponding to three SBUs.
These are lot of common items across the plants.
If the same material is required in other plant, the same is managed thru Stock Transfer.
But when we run MRP with Total Planning , it considers only one plant at a time.
All the reservations get converetd intp requisitions even though stock may be there in some other plant.
We want to have MRP run for all the plants to harness the common inventory.
MRP type is 'PD' & lot size is 'EX'.
Your valuable feedback is awaited.
Regds,
Ajay
Answer:
If you are in 4.6, take a look at Global ATP which allows you to be able to draw materials from a list of plants, manually.
Also, look at the special procurement key that defines one plant as the source plant and the MRP generated requisitions at the other plants are stock transport type.
I'm not sure if the functionality is there to automatically source from the plant with stock.
Good luck,
dt
