M Item Cat problem in Contract (MM Functional) - 4.6C
Hi,
I'm having a problem with copying Requisition line on to Contract.
I mapped "Standard Item Category + RV Purchase Requisition doc type" to the follow on "M Item Category + Value Contract doc type".
But, I'm unable to create a value contract of M Item Category with reference to an RV Requisition line item of Standard Item Category.
The system doesn't allow me to change the Item category from Standard to M.
Please let me know if I missing a config step. Or let me know if this is not possible.
Thank you in advance.
Regards.
Try adding an entry to the "Link purchase requisition - document type" section of requisition document type configuration (OMEB). Add the following entry "WK - M - M" and/or "MK - M - M". I think the system is checking for these entries when you are creating the contract from the requisition. You have to change the item category from blank to M before you do the copy. I believe it checks for the "M - M" entry at that point. You don't need to add M to the allowable item categories section of OMEB.

Thank you Very Much, Tranny!!!
It worked!!!
But, I had to include M (and W) in the Allowed Item Categories in the OMEB.
Thanks.
Regards.
No problem. I didn't have to add M to the requisition allowed categories section in our 4.6B system. Whatever works.

Hi Tranny
Sorry to bother you!
1) But, In 4.6C when I try to double-click 'Link Purchase Requisition - document type', it won't let me do that unless I chose an Item Category.
It gives the error "Choose an entry from the subdialog "Allowed Item Categories". If I chose a Standard Item Cat (say) then it won't let me use M or W item categories to link the document types as M or W are not defined.
So that is why I had to define the Item Categories M or W.
2) I have another favour to ask:
Is it possible to create an M or W Item Cat Contract with reference to standard Item Cat RFQ? I believe there is no document mapping possible between RFQ and Contract. And the system won't allow me to change the Item Category while creating the Contract.
Thank you in advance.

No bother at all. This helps me keep my skills up to date.
1) My egregious error - I did have M as an allowed category in my requisition configuration
2) I couldn't find any way to be able to change the item category. SAP doesn't allow item category M for RFQ's - message 641.
