Hi,
The file size in the filesytem may be different from what specified in the Oracle data dictionary.
Check your Oracle Alert log file, you may find some errors which occured during the backup, also consult your Hardware engg about this and mention the filesystem on which you are noticing this error.

Thankyou for the reply, but i wanted to know actually how the file size in the file system can be different from the Oracle Data dictionary.
you mean to say that at the time of making the file system the sizes have not been mentioned properly.
Pl. if you could elaborate it.
