I want to reduce the entries in a subtype list (specifically the subtypes for IT0045) to leave only our custom entries. I can do this directly by deleting entries in table v_T591A.
However, how much trouble will this cause if I ever want to put any back? Is there a better way of reducing this list without actually deleting entries?

Deleting subtypes from table T591A / V_T591A won’t cause any problem, if you keep at least couple of subtypes in the table for the required infotype.
Why don’t you keep a print screen for the records?

You can always go to client 000 if you need to see the delivered subtypes after deleting them.

When I asked this question before I was advised to use
"Assign Infotypes To Countries".
IMG-PERSONNEL ADMIN-CUSTOMISING PROCEDURES-INFOTYPES-ASSIGN INFOTYPES TO COUNTRIES.
Then make the appropriate Infotype Subtypes "Not Permitted" for your particular CPRGP.
