Alternative Qualifications
Hi,
my company wants to start using 'Alternative Qualifications'.
In current SAP-settings, I can only enter a 100% replacement-relationship.
Even if I change the percentage to 50% and try to save this, SAP brings the percentage back to 100%.
I'm guessing this 'forced' 100%-replacement is a customizing-setting but can't find it in the IMG.
Can anyone 'guide' me?
Thanks.
Willie
Hi Willie,
You are spot on with your gut feel. There is a setting which allows you to change the default of an alternative qualification. It is in the IMG --> Personnel Management --> Personnel Development --> Functions --> Set Up Control Parameters.
You need to change the setting for QUALI QPROZ. The weird thing is that by changing this from say 100 to blank or any other value doesn't seem to have the desired effect. It changes the default but does not allow me to overwrite it with a specific percentage for a particular qualifcation.
A work around is to keep changing the config to the desired default setting. This is a bit of a pain.
I have tried it on our 4.6b and 4.6c systems and I am not able to override the default setting.
There is an OSS note 338449 which relates to the problem. But we have applied it to both our systems - so it should work now.
Perhaps someone else has it working on their system. It might be worth OSS'ing again.
Kind regards,
Evan

Hi,
thanks for the info.
After "playing" with this setting, I've also found another 'not so nice' backdoor by making the A/B200-relationship directly maintainable.
Then via PP01 it's possible to change the 'weighting'-percentage in the desired percentage (without SAP changing it back to the QUALI-QPROZ value).
Another thing I was walking into (first time I'm participating in a more extensive PD-implementation) is that when I've set an alternative Q to e.g 50%, the 'Profile Matchup'-report displays a full coverage of the alternative qualification.
I was hoping/expecting a half bar in the report.
Anyone knows where I can find this?
Thanks again!!
Willie
