Question:
Hi,
When I am trying to get information about DB statistics using tcode ST04->Detail Analisys Menu, in some cases I fail. For example when I intend to run 'onstat' command (with parameters) or display DB latches, I have the following error in the result:
RFC error:
"Please check TCP/IP destination DBSERVER with
transaction sm59"
RFC connection DBSERVER is working fine (I recreate it multiple times, test it and so on). Having examined system log I found error 10054 (broken connection) and I can guess that there is something wrong with
INFSTRFC.EXE.
However, I managed to run 'onstat' command through External OS Commands (tcode SM49/SM69).
Could you share your opinions in regards to the source of the problem ?
I can't say that my problems is critical but anyway I 'd like to find the solution.

I guess you've already checked SAP Note 47464. Can you give us the version of the INFSTRFC.EXE? Thanks.

Yes, I am familiar with this note (47464). I checked my server configuration and registry settings and my <SID>adm has correct authorization to run 'onstat'.
My INFSTRFC.EXE version is dated the 3rd of April 2001.
Do I have to upload the latest version ?

Answer:
Try using an updated INFSTRFC.EXE (but don't delete the old one) and see what happens.
