Program SapMail not registered

Question:
Hi SAP Guru,
Need advise as what action need to be taken when we go to SM59 - connection test SAP_INTERNET_GATEWAY_SERVER - error message - program sapmail not registered / CPI-C error CM_ALLOCATE_FAILURE_RETRY.

SAP Mail is not logging into SAP correctly. You should be able to see the program name in SMGW.

Have you configured sendmail program....SAP has some grat instruction for setting up sendmail and even gives you an example script to create...
So it is not just SAP that needs to be configured but UNIX level utilities that are required to be running

i went to smgw, but did not see any programs at all. what i saw is a user who is connected to the system wiht " 1 active connection" thats all

are u using sap mail at all?? (or any internet related transactions or any process that uses the sap gateway ???)

Hello,
to understand the Mailing-Fight:
An External Mail-System (lets call it "Exchange-server" or "sendmail") has to connect in SAP. That happens (in case of Exchange) if the special Service on the Exchange-Server willl be started. Detailed Docu is available at help.sap.com
If this connect was successful, u can check that via the "test connection" Button in SM59.
P.S.:Who has installed this Mailing-connection?
