different work schedule every week

Hi all
I have questions of the Work Schedule Rule. Assume that the EE works 5 days a week and the rest day is different every week depends on the roster. If I setup the Work Schedule Rule with fixed working day like Mon - Fri, when the EE works Tues - Sat and takes vacation on Sat, the system doesn't deduct from the quota in IT2006 that we want the system to deduct. Do you guys know how to configure the flexible work schedule rule? I have thinking about where IT2003 should be used, but IT2003 is too complicated for end user. Beside IT2003, is there any solution for it? Pls advise. Thanks!

If your roster (shift schedule) repeats itself, i.e. week1, week2, week3 then back to week1, week2, week3 etc. - then you can create this numbered sequence of shifts in the work schedule itself. Each week would comply with the actual working pattern.
If not, you could also consider creating dynamic work schedules. For example, when a clocking is entered a rule decides automatically that this is a working day. No clocking, then an OFF day.
The config for the above is in the Time Management->Work Schedules section of the IMG.
Your quota config should work off the type of day the work schedule determines.
Other than the above suggestions, I can only think of substitutions (2003).

the dynamic assignment of workschedules will work when you execute time evaluation. But how will you assure that quotas are updated with the correct amount of hours when you enter IT2001. It takes the number of hours from the workschedule by the time of data entry and when you allow to enter absences on days off it will deduct 0 hours.

You can make your absence deduct the hours even on an off day, just make the appropriate counting rule for it. BUT I'm thinking of all the other things that can go wrong with this. Surely updating your quota can't be your biggest problem, or have you already tackeled the others?
