work center-HR and logistic PM : is there any relationship?

Question:
Hi gurus,
could you please tell me , the work center defined in HR and work center in PM , are they the same? is there any relationship between them?
I want to define several work centers in HR and use them to categorize positions in term of location generally, but i dont want to have any effect on the PM side (and either the other way around)
could you please give me some hints on this?
thanks and best regards.

Answer:
HR and PM work centers are different. won't have effect on each other. however, there is some integration if you were to manually link the two.

Hello netzilla,
Could you please explain what you were trying to do? Were you successful with this method?
We have been looking for some better way to assign employees to work locations. I see that there is a Location object type (F) in Org. Mgmt. But there isn't any way to relate the org. unit or position to it. It appears that object type F is for Training and Event Management.
Ideal would be a way to assign the location to an org unit and have lower level org units inherit this value if none is specified. And positions in an org unit would inherit the value from the org unit.
Any other suggestions for how to efficiently code employees and groups of employees to a physical location?
Thanks,
billb
Answer:
We had a similar requirement to link employees to locations because the data on IT0032 is rubbish.
We created all our buildings as locations (F) and linked them to employees. Had to define a new relationship between employees and locations but it works fine.
Developed on new field on IT0001 to display the employee location.
Happy SAPping.
