SAP/DB2 Install licensing

Question:
Hi
In the case of an SAP ECC5 installation with DB2 is there a requirement that the DB2 part be licensed outside of SAP beforehand or should it all be bundled? Anyone have any experience of this?
Regards
TinTin
Answer:
You normally obtain license for IBM DB2 through IBM instead of SAP. However there are scenario's where the DBMS license is included in the SAP deal, for instance with Oracle and MaxDB.
Answer:
Thanks, yes I've only been used to SAP/Oracle installs before and have never had to bother with additional licenses for the DB instance. Ok, something for me to follow up tomorrow. Cheers
Answer:
Found the answer to this one while digging around on SAPnet just in case anyone else searches for similar info. OSS note 816773 explains how you must download the OEM license file for Db2 and install it once your CI has created all your DB users. Glad I found it, I was beginning to tear my hair out!!
Wonder why this small but important detail was nowhere in the guide? Not to worry, sorted now.
Answer:
Otherwise no one reads the SAP notes
