SAP Query - ADHOC Query problem
We got a request from a user today for what at first appeared to be a fairly simple SAP query, but for the life of us we can’t get the data out of SAP.
We have since resorted to SE16N to rip to the tables out into excel and used a VLOOKUP to get the data, but I was wondering if anyone else can get an accurate report on the following criteria:
We need to know of all the employees that left in the last 12 months, the day that they left – ie their leaving date, and all the recurring payments (IT0014) that were valid on the on their last day of work – ie delimited on their last day of work by the termination action.
We would hope it to look something like this :
“EMP NO” “NAME” “LEAVING DATE” “WT” “START ” “END DATE” “AMOUNT”
11155 Greg 11.05.05 0211 01.01.04 11.05.05 25.00
11155 Greg 11.05.05 0214 01.04.04 11.05.05 133.00
01245 Sally 25.12.04 5654 25.03.00 25.12.04 1545.00
When we run our query, we do get some data out, but not everyone – we only got about four records of the 118 we have found through excel.
We have tried all the different date selections and it makes no difference.
I would love to know if anyone else has seent his problem before, i think it is being caused by the termination date in the seleciton field, but i cant work out how to get around it!
Any advice appreciated
Greg

I had a quick go at recreating this and had problems too.
Looking at my results, what caused me difficulties was the delimited I0014 records seemed to be considered part of the Active status employee history and the leaving date record is considered part of the Inactive status history.
I had lines with the leaving date as 31/12/9999 and correct I0014 wage details, followed by a single 'correct' leaving date line with blank I0014 details.
We've a third-party tool we use for these type of awkward reports. Otherwise it's off to ABAP. I'm sure SAP Query can handle it, but it's a pain trying to get there.
Good luck anyways.
hey Dino,
thanks for taking the time to try it out, i owe you a beer if you are ever in London.
Someone has pointed me in the direction of ADHOC query using the SET OPERATIONS functionality to run one report on the results of another, but so far i havent had much luck with that either!
I will let you know how i get on, i refuse to be beaten by a SAP Query!
Cheers
Greg

Just out of curiousity, did you get anywhere with this?
I think we're evens on the beers because I'd never noticed the SET OPERATIONS before. Learnt something new.
Hey Dino,
No joy here, we even tryed using the newish PNPCE logical database, but SAP is still not able to do it. so we have stuck with the SET OPERATIONS method which is no where near as good....
sometimes you just have to call in the ABAPers!
Thanks anyway
