Question:
Hi SAPFans,
I am trying to assign an SAP User ID to a Personnel Number
So i followed the following procedure
1) Tx:PA30
1) Given a a personnel number.
2)In the Direct selection section, given 0105 in the Infotype field, and 0001 in the Subtype (Sty) field.
From then i could not able to go to communication section to enter the SAP user ID in the ID/number field. I am getting the following error:
Information type 'Communication(0105)' not permitted.
So can any one rectify the above error.

Hi Basha,
This usually happens when an infotype has not been checked as allowable for your country. This usually only happens to country specific infotypes. I am suprised that this would happen for infotype 0105 which should be available for all countries.

When i did the following procedure in IDES4.7 its working fine but in IDES5.0 its giving a problem. So how can i rectify it.

There is an object type in OM 'US' which allows you to assign a userid to person (P) or position (S) but I don't believe it has the same functionality as IT0105.
However, IT0105 should be working in IDES5.0
You need to analyse the error you are getting. There could just be something wrong in the config

Big Chief- Have you actually attached the US object to object P? I have tried to just to see if it would work and I could not get it to work. I have used the US to S relationship many times. It is a good tool to test/see what an MSS user sees, attach the consultant/support users ID to the chiefs position and that user will see the same views etc as the person attached to the position.

Actually i am on NetWeaver .i am working for ESS. I am new to HR. I tried to assign a infotype to country Germany and could succeed one step.But now i am getting the error "Infotype 'Communication(0105)', type '0001' not permitted.Other than Subtype '0001' it is permitting. So can u help me to tell the procedure to assign a SubType 0001 to the infotype 0105(communication) .

Hi,
as far as I know the procedure should works as follows:
- you create a user and
- assign this object US (user) to object P (person).
- Via a program (don't know which one) the value of US is recorded in IT0105, subtype 0001.
Hence, as this is standard SAP functionality, SAP doesn't allow you to manually record subtype 0001.
