sap downlaod question...
i want to download the sap xi , from the service.sap.com ..
but the thing is so confusing can you tell me what cd's i should download from there ...??
or under what section it is available..
If you already think that this is difficult, than good luck with the installation!
XI is basically a normal SAP WebAS (ECC 5.0 ? ), with some additional content loaded in it...
http://service.sap.com/swdc
- download - installations and upgrades - entry by application group - SAP NetWeaver - SAP NETWEAVER - SAP NETWEAVER 04 - Installation and Upgrade - <OS> - <DB> - And here, you can finaly download the software you need. Don't forget to select software for Unicode systems!
The XI content that you need to import, you have to find by yourself..
Hi,
Adding Markdijs's explanation...e.g to Install XI 3.0, you must install first both of WEBAS ABAP and JAVA 6.40 (so all required DVD/CDs must be available for your specific OS/DB)...Then install XI component from Netweaver'04 DVD (including components needed) ..

You are too kind..
Having done four installs of this myself, it is quite a fiddly job.
Patching is an interesting experience as well, having just completed the upgrade to SP15 - well almost.... I like the way it expired all my admin accounts so I couldn't log on!!! Interesting feature.....

Is it on XI 3.0 or 7.0 ?
We're now on SP16 (XI 3.0), do not face it yet ..

According to the OSS Note 888020 (897583) - SP14 has this effect, but we went to SP15 and it still happend.
We are on X I3.0.
Solution
The behavior is corrected by Support Package so that the validity period of the user account includes the day entered as the expiry date.
NetWeaver 2004 : Import Support Package 15.
NetWeaver 2004s: Import Support Package 6.
