hi,
users have just changed the check printer just because the new printer was cute and it is not working. I know there are a lot of steps and security levels involved in this but dont know what they are, so can anyone help me on this??
What are the steps involved in setting up a new Check Printer.
Is there any preferred software that links up the printer to the Bank ??

is the Bank running SAP and printing checks directly to a printer located at your site?
is your SAP system printing checks directly to the printer?
Our SAP system prints checks and there's nothing special to connect these printers to the system. Method L, going to a queue defined in Unix or an OMS... and access is restricted to certain users through standard SAP security...

It is our SAP system that prints checks directly to the printer.
When we did this 3 years earlier, we knew there were 7 levels of security involved but nothing was documented, so we are having a nightmare now.
