SCOT problem sending mails to rediff or yahoo

Question:
We are on SAP 4.7 system, scot able to deliver mails to default doman but not able to send mails to rediff or yahoo account. Please let me know any setting is required in SAP or with mail server.
Answer:
Is your mail config in SAP restricted.
If you goto SCOT, double click on the smtp or whatever you have called your mail node, so it brings up the connect data.
In the support address section at the bottom it will have internet checked. Click on set and look at the address data. An * in here means that the SAP settings are set to allow all mail domains, but may still be further restricted by the comapanies mail servers. Or it may have *domain.com where mail is restricted only to the domain.com addresses.
Answer:
I had a similar issue. We use a 4.7Ent w/ Oracle 9 and HPUX.
The default domain of our UX server was different than our company wide mail server. This means that when an email was sent from SAP using the UX mail server, it appended the domain name of that server. If the site recieving that mail can't validate that domain as a valid domain their server it rejects it. So what we did was "MASQARADE" the domain of the UX server to match our default mail server domain. That way when the receiving system recieves the email, it can ensure it comes from a valid mail domain. Since spammers use false domains so often most sites check the domain before accepting.
Hope it helps.
