Question:
We are facing an issue here, the problem is occuring as payroll has run retroactive from 01.09.2001. When trying to post the docments, it says documents have not been sucessfully created. Can this occur, due to FI documents earlier than 2003 have been archived. If yes, how do we go about this in resolving this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Couple of questions.
a) Why you are performing retro for such a long period (01.09.2001)?
b) Did you think about the after effects before performing retro? I am sure you have changed / maintained the payroll control record to allow retro.

Answer:
The posting run should tell you why it has failed...look down the bottom at the error messages. Its possible that you are trying to post to an account/cost centre that is no longer active - or perhaps your wage type for that period back then is just not set up correctly.
Either way...the posting run will tell you what is wrong.
