Question:
Do registration keys apply to both Development and Production Backup servers? Reason I asked is that access key I obtained for an object is not valid in the Backup server.
Answer:
Normally you wouldn't change anything in your production or production backup system, would you? To answer your question: they object keys are object-specific, meaning that changing the same object in different systems will always require the same (if the release is the same) or a different key. transporting objects which were repaired using a key in a dev-system will not transport the key-information.

thank you for your reply. yes, we don't apply changes to our production server. but error was prompted when we transported from our development server so we would want to try it in our backup server (which is not a live server).
* there was no access key required when we modified in dev
* no error was prompted in prod
* upon trying out to change in a modifiable client in our backup, access keys provided by service.sap.com are not accepted.[/list]
Answer:
try the following: go to sapnet and copy the registration-key for this object which you used to modify that object in your dev-system. paste this to the window in backup-prd when requested. key should work.
