Question:
Hi all,
Unable to create a unix file using open dataset. Sy-subrc is 8.
What is the reason behind it. Can any explain?

Answer:
Just check whether u have the authorization for S_DATASET.
Also check the attributes of the file u r going to create/overwrite.
If u r creating it first time, firstly create a file of the same name at appl server and enable its attributes manually or by unix command chmod
