ABAP Books (4.7 Upgrade)
I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on the following books:
ABAP Objects: Introduction to Programming SAP Applications
ABAP/4, Second Edition: Programming the SAP(R) R/3(R) System ( 2nd Edition )
I have approximately 5 years experience programming in 4.0B and our company is planning an upgrade to 4.7 ( I have taken some SAP Delta Courses).
Just looking for a more "up to date" text on ABAP programming.
Thanks in advance,
You may want to check the Web Appliacation Server recently released by SAP. It speaks not only about the new architecture of WAS/4.7 but also new methods of coding.
Can you direct me with a link?
Thanks,
Are you referring to this:

This book seems like it would be more helpful
ABAP Objects the Official Reference : http://www.sap-press.com/H958.html
Opinions?
The Objects reference book is just that, each command explained. The Objects programming book will show you how to program using objects. So I would recomend you get the objects programming book for yourself to learn how to use the new system. the Objects reference book would be useful in the libarary of the whole development team. I have not seen the WAS book.
Note all these books come with a copy of miniSAP, just different releases; 4.6D, 6.10 and 6.20.

There are two books.
"ABAP Objects - the official reference" by Horst Keller and Joachim Jacobitz. http://www.sap-press.com/H958.html
$130, £103. This has the WAS 6.10 version of miniSAP.
"ABAP Objects - Introduction to Programming SAP Applications" by Horst Keller and Sascha Kruger http://www.it-minds.com/detail.asp?item=100000000013999
£60. This has the 4.6D version of miniSAP.
I have the Programming book and can currently reference the Reference book.
