old standard code

Question:
Is there a way to view an older version of a standard SAP program that was overwritten by a patch upgrade? For standard programs there is no version management functionality as there is for custom ABAPs, and I would like to see exactly what was changed in the patch upgrade. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Answer:
Your Basis admin should know the tp profile parameter VERS_AT_IMP.
(If not, tell you basis admin to search (help.sap.com) for VERS_AT_IMP.)
This parameter allows (for releases >= 4.5) to create version history information during imports.
Be aware that you'll create a lot of data if you enable version history for all future SAP standard upgrades.
If you are interested in just a few programs (e.g., because you copied a SAP standard program and modified the Z* copy), this is absolute overkill.
